The Position
This position is a full time position with the Community Development
Department, reporting to the Community Development Director. The
Community Development Receptionist / Permit Clerk greets visitors,
answers routine questions, directs callers to appropriate departments,
answers multi-line phone system, handles cash receipts on the
computerized cash register, receives over the counter receipts, is
responsible for reconciling the cash drawer and receives permit
applications. The Community Development Receptionist / Permit Clerk also
performs data entry, provides light clerical support for the department
secretaries and court clerks, supports the Permit Specialist and other
duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have an outgoing service-oriented personality.
They will have a combination of technical and personal skills and
abilities necessary to maintain effective work relationships with the
general public, other city employees, and other agencies. The ideal
candidate will have excellent communications skills; knowledge in
general office methods and practices; knowledge of general mathematical
computations; Business English, spelling, and punctuation; skill in
efficient use of office equipment including data entry and word
processing.

To Qualify
Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED; nine month's
experience in general office work; experience with computers and
word-processing. Knowledge of telephone etiquette; pleasant telephone
voice; and demonstrated skills in customer service.

Compensation
Salary Range is $2,187 - $2,734 per month. The starting salary will
normally be the first step of the salary range, however, higher salary
appointments may be made and are contingent upon qualifications and
experience. The City of Wilsonville provides a generous benefit package,
which includes city paid health, vision, and dental insurance for
employee and dependents through either Blue Cross or Kaiser, vacation,
sick leave, holidays, life insurance, worker's compensation, long-term
disability, and educational reimbursement. Retirement contributions are
granted through union contract. The City also makes contribution to
unemployment insurance and Social Security. Voluntary deferred
compensation plans are available through ICMA or Nationwide (PEBSCO).
